CAICT was established by Center Director Professor Jan Damsgaard, Professor Niels Bjørn-Andersen, Professor Janni Nielsen and Lector Leif Bloch Rasmussen primo 2007. CAICT consist of 25 academic employees and associated academics who in periods are located at CAICT.
John King was in 2009 employed as an associate honorary doctor and Erik Bonnerup was employed as an adjunct professor at the same time.
CAICT reports directly to the Dean of research at CBS.
CAICT wants an extended collaboration with the private sector which is a principal in the mission statement: “co-creating value through partnerships”. This is realized by a range of partnerships with business and public sector organizations, which has resulted in a project portfolio consisting of both national and internal research projects.
CAICT has a comprehensive partnership with Microsoft Corporation in Vedbæk, north of Copenhagen, about developing the Enterprise Resource Planning Systems of the future. The partnership has made it possible for CAICT to engage a Professor with expertise in this particular discipline, paid for equally by CBS and Microsoft.
CAICT is also involved in variety of business educations at Copenhagen Business School. The newest education is the elite module in IT-Excellence. CAICT is continuously working on developing new innovative master degrees within IT Leadership and Business IT.

Erik Bonnerup har modtaget IT-Branchens årlige pris for sit arbejde med at sætte it på dagsordenen.
En dugfrisk undersøgelse fra CBS viser, at staten bruger millioner på rengøring, mens kommunerne har haft en række pilotfosøg og taget robotteknologien til sig, har de mange statslige styrelser, universiteter og departementer tilsyneladende holdt roboterne i arms længde. Staten har ikke blot lidt et ressourcetab, men også mindsket mulige afledte positive innovationsgevinster.
