The MSc in Business Administration and Information Systems / cand.merc.(it.) is a 2 year master’s programme that focuses on the intersection of information systems with organisation, strategy and management.
The programme offers two concentrations: 1) Information Managementin English, and 2) IT Management and Business Economicsin Danish.
The MSc in Business Administration and Information Systems qualifies students to work with a wide range of challenges and tasks in the intersection between business, IT, management and information. The programme enables you to work with business as well as IT and information strategies, and it enables you to apply IT as a management tool.
The MSc in Business Administration and Information Systems is a graduate-level theoretical programme that is an extension programme based on the bachelor’s programmes in Business Administration and Information Systems, BSc (it.) and BA in Information Management, BA(im), respectively or similar bachelor degrees. The MSc programme is interdisciplinary, problem-and practice-oriented and builds on partnerships with the business community.
Creating value with IT and information management
The uniqueness of the MSc in Business Administration and Information Systems programme is its focus on the intersections between information and business – and between IT and business. The MSc in Business Administration and Information Systems gives students knowledge and insights into developing recommendations for and adopting a holistic approach to the organisations’ potentials for creating value using information and information technology. The programme enables students to analyse, solve and manage organisational change processes related to information and IT. Students will be trained to apply their interdisciplinary competences in building bridges between different organisational functions, different professional backgrounds, and in general, to meet challenges and address problems that involve more than one discipline or field of study.
You have the opportunity to choose between two concentrations:
1) IT Management and Business Economics (in Danish, will be in English from 2012)
The MSc Profile in IT Management and Business Economics focuses on analysing, describing and solving complex challenges and problems in relation to the design, development and implementation of IT in organisations.
The (MSc) profile IMBE is an extension programme based on the bachelor’s programme in Business Administration and Information Systems, BSc(it.),
2) Information Management (in English)
The pivotal point of the MSc profile in Information Management is information, and it focuses on how information can be managed so that it can be used optimally and strategically. The MSc profile in Information Management is an extension programme based on the bachelor’s programme in Information Management, BA(im.).
