Applied Economics and Finance
The Applied Economics and Finance concentration provides students with a solid understanding of finance, with a particular emphasis on real-world applications.
The aim of the concentration is, thus not only to give you theoretical insights, but also to provide you with tools that are useful in a real-world business context. In other words, the concentration teaches you to apply economics and finance to contemporary economic issues. Surveys have shown that our students and graduates value the high content of applied knowledge in the concentration.
The skilful business economist
The concentration provides a strong analytical background in the core areas: finance and international macro- and industrial economics. You learn to understand and forecast the macro-variables that companies find important. Additionally, you learn to apply theoretical models in finance and industrial economics to solve practical problems. Moreover, we emphasise the importance of frank communication regarding insights and results.
