CBS is a member of ECCH. CBS faculty and staff may search and order cases, but advance payment is required.

Payment

  • Expenses for these services are payable by requesting departments, teachers or programmes See prices below.

  • The price of a single 'inspection copy' of one case is £3,40.

  • Multiple copies or permission to take copies incur a fee of £3.40 per copy

  • You are obliged to buy one copy per student (minimum 5 copies). Copying is not allowed without the permission of ECCH.

A growing number of ’inspection copies’ are now accessible for free (pdf) via ECCH (registration required).

Searching ECCH

ECCH's COLIS database is the most comprehensive bibliography of cases within business economics and related fields. It offers an advanced search interface permitting users to search by company name, title, keywords etc. COLIS contains abstracts of more than 30.000 cases.

Among contributing institutions are IMD, INSEAD, IESE, London Business School, School of Management at Cranfield University, Richard Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario; Harvard Business School; Stanford University; Darden School of Business at University of Virginia; John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Procedure for CSB staff and faculty

  • Select the COLIS database (see access above) and click 'logon'

  • Select 'Register'. Registered users may download 'Inspection Copies' from a total of 37.000 titles

  • Approximately 100 new titles are added each month

  • You can sign up for alerts on new cases on specified topics.

CBS' membership

The CBS Library manages membership on behalf of CBS.

Electronic case masters

Electronic 'Case Masters' can be delivered in cryptated form (pdf) from which copies can be made (£3.10 per copy). You are obliged to request permisssion to take copies. To do so, you must install a SoftSEAL plug-in to decrypt the pdf-document. Please find more information by ECCH .

Individual membership

Naturally, individual departments may become independent members of ECCH. The fee is £150 a year for full membership and £75 for associate membership. One benefit of membership is protection against 'blocking' of your account due to non-payment by other parties. Furthermore, full members receive bibliographies of cases directly from some of the providers.

  • Delivery by courier: minimum £30.00 or the actual price. Delivery: 2-3 days
